In The Diocese |
| The decision to become a priest requires many conversations. You need to be in prayerful conversation with God, in conversations with your family and friends and in conversation with the members of your church community. The Diocesan Office of Vocations has developed a new Internet resource to help this conversation take another step forward. Go to www.behindthecollar.com to see and hear conversations with seminarians and priests of the Diocese of Richmond as they talk in a candid and informal setting bout their experience of God’s call. Click the “Discuss” button and hear men who ”wear the collar” talk about their call, what it’s like to be in a seminary and family and friends reacted to this decision. Go BEHIND THE COLLAR to hear more. |

EPIPHANY PROCLAMATION: Traditionally on the feast of the Epiphany, the church announces the date of Easter and the holy days that are reckoned from that time. In the year 2009, we will celebrate EASTER on April 12. ASH WEDNESDAY falls on February 25, PENTECOST falls on May 31 and the FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT falls on November 29.

March For Life
BUS TO WASHINGTON: The Knights of Columbus are making plans to rent buses to the March for Life in Washington on January 22. They are currently collecting donations after Masses to help pay for them. Are you interested in going? The cost is $30 for an adult, $15 for a child which includes supper at a buffet on the way home. Catch the bus in the front of the church at 7:45 AM and arrive home later that night. Sign-up sheets are available in the church vestibule. There will be a special Mass at 7 AM that morning. Whether you are going to the March or not, please come to pray for pro-life intentions.
